Class of 1989

The most interesting item that I was able to look at in the archive was the yearbook from the class of 1989. To most people this is not an item that would sound particularly interesting, but to me and my family it holds a lot of value. My father was a graduate of Ursinus in the class of 1989.

When going to the archive my goal was to find pictures of my father and to learn about what campus was like during his time at Ursinus. The first thing that I looked in was the yearbook. My dad was a member of the lacrosse team a brother of the Sig Rho fraternity. My father being involved in so many extracurricular events made it easy for me to find pictures of him. It was also very enjoyable to stumble across some pictures of his friends. These are guys that I have known my entire life and it was very cool to see their college yearbook photos.

Something else that I really enjoyed about the yearbook was being able to send my dad the pictures of him and his friends. These were all pictures that he and his friends have not seen in a long time, if ever. I believe that it brought back a lot of good memories for him. He was texting me throughout my entire visit to the archive asking me to look for people or pictures to send him.

My fathers time here at Ursinus is a major reason that I am also graduating from Ursinus. I have pent my entire life hearing stories about this place, and to finally put photos to some of the stories was an incredible experience.
